"13 trapped on mountain due to snow" - climbers in Okutama found

Translation

On the night of March 21st, in Okutama (Tokyo), thirteen mountain climbers were unable to make their descent due to snow; however, they were found by members of the fire department before dawn on the 22nd. All of them are conscious. Six have already been transported to the base of the mountain, and the rest are currently being evacuated.

According to the Tokyo fire department, at approximately 7:50 p.m. on the 21st, an alert was received stating that several climbers were trapped due to snow.

The party consisted of thirteen men and women, and after conducting a search of the area, a rescue team located the climbers on a mountain ridge at about 1:20 a.m. All were conscious; however, three were unable to walk, and the remaining ten were able to walk with assistance.

Six of the climbers, who had bodily pain or symptoms of frostbite, were immediately transported to a hospital. The remaining seven are in the process of evacuation, and an ambulance is on standby at the base of the mountain.

The party appears to have been hiking between Mt. Mito and Mt. Nukazasu, two mountains that straddle the Tokyo-Yamanashi area, when they became unable to make their descent. There are reports that suggest that the climbing party contains foreigners, and the police and fire department are attempting to confirm these claims.

Reports of heavy snowfall in Okutama from 1:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m on the 21st have prompted the Meteorological Agency to recommend caution, as they predict up to 20 centimeters of snowfall in the next twelve hours.
